Privacy Policy for Brewdict
Effective date: July 9, 2026
Brewdict ("the App") is developed by Bitsblast GmbH ("we", "us", "our"). Brewdict doesn't require an account: no name, email, or password is ever collected.
Information We Collect
- Location (optional): If you allow it, we use your location to suggest your country and show it on the map. You can decline and set your country manually instead.
- Preferences, stored only on your device: your origin/destination country, favorites, and onboarding status. This never leaves your phone and is deleted if you uninstall the App.
- Suggestions you submit: if you use the "suggest a coffee" or "suggest a correction" feature, that text is sent to us so we can improve the App's dictionary. We don't link submissions to your device or identity, so once sent, we have no way to trace a suggestion back to you. Please don't include personal details in these.
- An anonymous device ID: the App generates a random ID (no personal info attached) to talk to our server and prevent abuse.
We don't use analytics, advertising, or crash-tracking SDKs, and we never sell your data.
Third-Party Services
To show maps and translate coordinates into place names, the App talks to OpenStreetMap, CARTO, and flagcdn.com. These services only receive the minimum data needed (like map coordinates or a country code), governed by their own privacy policies.
Your Choices
- Turn off location access anytime in your device settings
- Uninstall the App to remove all locally stored data.
- We don't collect anything that identifies you personally, so there's no personal profile for us to look up or delete on request. uninstalling the App removes everything stored locally on your device.
Children
Brewdict isn't aimed at kids under 13.
Changes
This policy might get updated as the app changes. Check the effective date above for the latest version.
